Setting a Vision for Wallace
The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors is in the process of updating the General Plan. The Community of Wallace was invited by the County to provide input to the process by developing a Vision for the Wallace Community. A sub-committee of the Wallace Community Services District (WCSD) initiated a mailer to approximately 420 residents in the area. The mailer explained the purpose of the planning activity and included a simple set of questions intended to gather a set of first impressions on how people feel about what Wallace should like in the future.
An initial meeting established a committee for proceeding to develop the Vision for Wallace. After 5 meetings the Vision Statement was completed and approved by the Committee. It was submitted to the County Community Development Agency on March 2, 2009.
The Committee members included: Chuck Cantoni, David Hirsch, Milan Kubeck, LeAnn Evoniuk, Cathryn Jackson, Jackie Neill, Pat Bailey, Lew Mayhew, Ahmad al Ruosan, Darryl Rusk, Ron Harris, Mike Nemee, Jan Gossett, Robert Pittman, David Reyner and Doug Wirth.
Thanks to all those that participated.
